Blockchain and Web 3.0 from the perspective of the right to digital accessibility

The 15th Internet Security Conference organized by UKSW and ALK was held on May 10-11, 2023. In the session on Internet 3.0, we participated as speakers presenting a paper on “Blockchain and Web 3.0 from the perspective of the right to digital accessibility.” Blockchain as a distributed ledger represents a novel model for storing data on the server side, which is considered secure, despite the absence of any institution overseeing its operation. However, accessing data stored on the Ethereum network, for example, requires integration of the blockchain application with a web service, and the latter should be digitally accessible. This is particularly true for web forms, which should fulfill a number of requirements including error message handling in accordance with WCAG 2.1 principles (image generated by DALL-E based on title of the presentation).
